Boating: Alabama Scenic River Trail

Beginning on the Georgia-Alabama state line at Weiss Lake on the Coosa River, the Alabama Scenic River Trail runs the entire course of the state. No matter what your outdoor tastes, there’s a spot for you to canoe or boat that will give you what you’re looking for. Parts of the river trail include mountain streams and deltas, while the end of the trail empties out into the Gulf of Mexico. Boat your way down the Tensaw, Tennessee, Mobile-Tensaw delta, and more!

Fishing: Little River Canyon National Preserve

Located next to Fort Payne, Alabama near DeSoto State Park, Littler River Canyon National Preserve is perched atop Lookout Mountain in the northeast part of the state. Camping: Oak Mountain State Park

Located just 20 miles south of Birmingham, Oak Mountain State Park is a quick and easy way to escape the everyday and enjoy a quiet weekend of camping in nature. Located on Double Oak Mountain, this park stretches out over 9,940 acres and is great for mountain biking and hiking with over 50 miles of trails, as well as bird watching and a quiet fire.
